Toast Commits $100,000 in Matching Donations to Support Minnesota’s Restaurant Community

Toast, via Toast.org, the company’s social impact arm, is donating $100,000 in matching funds to the Minneapolis Foundation’s Salt Cure Fund in response to recent disruption that has reduced foot traffic and strained operations for local businesses.

The Salt Cure Fund strives to preserve the independent gathering places that bring people together and shape local culture. Funds will provide critical relief to restaurants across Minnesota during this period of operational and financial strain. Minnesota hospitality businesses will be able to apply for grants through The Salt Cure Fund to help cover payroll, rent or mortgage payments, and other urgent needs. The fund prioritizes small, independent concepts that often lack the platform to fundraise on their own.

Today, The Salt Cure Fund invites nationwide participation in a ‘Day of Giving’. To maximize community support, Toast will match all contributions made to the fund on February 18, dollar-for-dollar, up to $100,000. As part of the day, restaurants and hospitality groups are encouraged to consider donating a portion of their proceeds or to collect donations to support the restaurants of Minnesota.
